@tina123 We do our best to moderate the forum but every once and a while somebody slips through. Two days ago, the user above sent messages to many users. Those of you that received it, please just delete from your email. FYI: In your profile settings for your community account you can change the setting that forwards all message alerts to your personal email account. SEALFIT Training Pre-Requisites

Recommended pre-requisite physical qualifications for our events are listed below. Keep in mind that these are minimum qualifications. Most trainees far exceed these qualifications when they attend a SEALFIT event.

Academy (Intermediate to Advanced):

  • Max rep push-ups in 2 minutes: 45 minimum
  • Max rep sit-ups in 2 minutes: 45 minimum
  • Max dead hang pull-up, no time limit: 6 minimum
  • 3 mile timed run in 28:00 or less
  • Slick Murph: For time – 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run (partitioning into sets such as 10 rounds of 10 pull-ups, 20 push-ups, 30 squats is ok): 50:00 or less
  • Fran in 15:00 or less. 21 – 15 – 9 Thruster / pull-up. Ok to scale thruster, but you should be able to do it with at least a bar-bell (women) and 65# (men). The objective here is to demonstrate that your body is conditioned enough to move external load at speed and intensity.

Kokoro Camp (Intermediate to Advanced):

  • Max rep push-ups in 2 minutes: 45 minimum
  • Max rep sit-ups in 2 minutes: 45 minimum
  • Max dead hang pull-up, no time limit: 6 minimum
  • 3 mile timed run in 28:00 or less
  • Execution of weigted movements and olympic lifts are not required for completion of the Camp. Significant body-weight stamina, endurance and serious mental toughness is required. CrossFit or SEALFIT experience with the ability to move external loads at high intensity is a plus.

SEALFIT Physical Training (PT) Certification (Advanced):

  • CrossFit Level 2 or Level 1 with over 1 year of coaching experience
  • Completion of SEALFIT Kokoro Camp with coaches recommendation
  • Completion of Certification course and passing grade on practical and written exam
  • Note: check with us if you feel you are qualified but are not a CrossFitter. In certain cases a martial arts instructor or similar coaching background (ie: CSCS or Military Athlete) can be substituted if you have the requisite SEALFIT experience and training. Our intern program is an example of a way to gain the required coaching experience.

Awareness & Self Defense (Beginner to Intermediate):

  • Max rep push-ups in 2 minutes: 35 minimum
  • Max rep sit-ups in 2 minutes: 35 minimum
  • 3 mile timed run in 30:00 or less
  • Note: This course is part of the Academy and will not be held as a stand-alone seminar in 2011
